Beta opensOpt-in players Blizzard selected. Guaranteed access came with the Epic Pack or the Collection.
Level 30 capBlizzard announced the level-30 beta cap with the October 1–2 maintenance.
Beta endsBattle.net listed the beta through October 21; Blizzard reopened it after the Stress Test and closed it on October 23.
Name reservationEarly name reservation and character creation for buyers of any upgrade pack.
Launch3:00 p.m. PST (23:00 UTC). Included with an active WoW subscription or game time.
Raids unlockBarrow Deeps (10 players), Hyjal Summit (20) and Onyxia's Lair (40).
After launchHardcore launchBlizzard says Forever Hardcore becomes available sometime after launch. It has not given a date.
Spring 2027Major updateTwo new raids (10 and 20 players), two dungeons, new quests and a playable area, a legendary questline and a PvP season refresh.
Summer 2027Major updateA revamped iconic raid, a new raid, expanded world content, two dungeons, a PvP season refresh, and profession and Legacy updates.
